Collins poor? OMG really?

Was best outfield player for us, Adrian was superb as others have said.

Played the better footbally during the 90 altho they may have had the better chances. Want to see a few of the penalty shouts again but i have a feeling at least 1 of them was.

Preferred Moses out wide than down the middle.

Payet looked lively when he came on but then Lanzini drifted out the game a bit.

Extra time they were by far the better side and we did look a bit jaded, maybe the City game took a lot of of us (understandably). Altho we did have a great chance if Kouyate had squared it properly and then Noble's effort just went over.

Ref was awful I felt, the game was too big for him. Gave countless poor decisions including a couple of free kicks for us.

Also the 17 was lucky to stay on the pitch having been booked then doing a tackle very similar to what Pedro was booked for.

Ah well, i wanted a run in this but it wasnt to be, muct beat Norwich at weekend.

2 clear penalty shouts (Noble, then Moses). That Noble got booked for 'diving' for his shout says it all about the ref really...

Collins had to think hard to remember not to bang it up to AC - good stopper but horribly one dimensional coming out of defence unless someone hangs on his lughole constantly. Visions of the past with both of them imo.

We can't complain about the result, we were second best for that last half hour.

And let's stop hiding from the truth... Noble's passing is a crock of shit at the moment. There was one occasion he had nobody on him and tried to hit a champagne pass right across the park which ended up in amongst 3 or 4 Leics players with not a West Ham body even close. The resultant attack brought another blinding save at the base of the upright by Adrian from a neat Leics header.

We may have done what we did with Nolan here... we have picked a guy as captain who may actually struggle to make the starting eleven once Song is fit.

Perhaps its a job for Reid?

It was worrying how they cut through our defence for 3-4 one on ones with Adrian.

I didn't think Collins done much wrong. They pumped a lot of balls into the box and he was good against Ulloa. Matched him pretty much every time.

Moses isn't a winger in the Jarvis and Downing mode. He doesn't really get to the byline and cross. He's more of a wide forward and look to come inside and drive towards the middle. I think he'll work better with every other striker than Carroll to be honest.

I agree, Alex son. Collins has been shit this season - fair play, last season he was still doing the business, but he's gone now. Unload in January.

Moses had ample opportunity to try to find Carroll in the box in the first half, but seemed to prefer to dribble the ball and ultimately lose it. I thought he won a penalty though, in the second half.

That ref was a cunt.

I thought Collins was poor and Moses was mostly anonymous. Opinions :).

Positives - Adrian looks very good again after being just a tad shaky at the beginning of the Man City game. He even was taking command of the box better which I think he struggled with at times.

Collins look decent was well.

Moses looked good but was lacking a second gear.

Zarate will pop up with goals if we keep him and happy and fit.

The other players just look tired or not quite there.

Funny old game last night - Lecister were the better team but STONE me we should off had some pens.

We put out a strong team as well so shame we lost but such is supporting West Ham.

Roll on Saturday.

Didnt know that Jarvis had the best cross completion. Considering he hardly ever played a full match maybe I didnt notice. I'd love to know how many headers were scored from a Jarvis cross though. I bet its zero.

If we are honest (even though their goal was offside) they did deserve to win the game.

I feel sorry for Caroll in some ways (as much as you can for a multi millionaire footballer).
He's a striker from a different era. Without pace it's hard to be a striker in the premiership. He would be good in Italy. Prehaps that's where he will go.

But once valencia is back I doubt he will get a look in. We simply dont play long ball anymore. And we dont have the wingers. I barely saw Caroll's contribution yesterday. Yes he wins the first ball if its lumped up to him but after that, what can he do when the opposition sits back like that?

My fear is that we really do need to work out a better way to play against normal teams. I could see Everton, Stoke, Palace etc.. killing us at home. How should we play against teams that wont sit back?

Id take a draw away from home at Leicester the way theyre playing at the moment. And that's with a full team. We were missing a couple of key players and were it a league game it would have ended at 90 mins. Move on.
